I am a retired tax attorney, now a photographer. (For many, "The Law" is their passion - I can understand that, but I'm afraid it was never mine.) In fact, in my adult life, I've had only two true passions - photography and my babies (now 19 and 25).
I grew up in Colorado, but have been in the Washington, DC area (Bethesda, MD, specifically) since I moved here "for four years" in 1978 (while my then-wife did her internship & residency @ Geo. Wash. Univ.) - maybe I'll stick around a while and see if I like it - LOL! I miss Colorado only in July; obviously not a skier, July is the time for hiking and backpacking - activities more comensurate with photography than skiing anyhow.
For a photographer, the Washington area is, to borrow a Defense Dept. term, a target-rich environment. Plus the Capitol, Lincoln Memorial and other iconic artifacts, there is the Potomac River and C&O Canal, the Chesapeake Bay, & the Shenandoah Mtns. Half an hour from the White House I'm in true wilderness.
Interests
I still love good food (so what's new?); Good restaurants; Movies (theater or living room); The History & Discovery Channels; Making images with my Digital SLR; Manipulating those images with Photoshop on my Dell (Believe it or not, I am a quite good photographer); Spending as much time as possible at my beach-front cottage on North Carolina's Outer Banks where I take advantage of a another type of "target-rich environment" with my camera (All the sunrise photos in my photo album were shot from my deck.)
